Victor Chan's Journey

Time

Seconds, hours, days and years
All is lost before you know it
Seconds that seem like hours
And years that seem like days
Never under your control

The Power of Silence

Not a word, not a sound
A simple silence is what I’ve found
A well known skill, yet not many have learned
For the ones that did, it’s a milestone earned Not a word, not a sound
The fear it brings like the howl of a hound
Waiting to see what will arise
But left to wonder, with cautious eyes Not a word, not a sound
Not like jargon from a box you’ve wound
Precious words saved for the special times
With the ones I trust who speak like mimes Not a word, not a sound…silence

Tears

A little tear from my eye
Has not appeared as the years went by
As if a reservoir has run dry
The life of emotions will eventually die All my feelings trapped inside
The path of manhood as my guide
The thought of feelings, tears and cries
Will never be seen through my eyes And to an end it does come
Through aging in this world
To never be seen again
The liquid words of a child No way to express what’s inside my heart
I bring to you now, this form of art
I ask of you now, to help me conceal
All that I’ve told you ’bout the way I feel

To Forget

Every hour, Every day,
The wish to forget, I do pray
So strong a thought in my mind
In my heart it truly does bind
A simple wish that won’t come true
And another day, that I must go through.

Love

You may think you have it under control
You may think it won’t affect you
You may even try to hide from it
But when it strikes
You can’t stop thinking ’bout it

Spring

If the skies were blue
The flowers will bloom
If the sun was shining
The birds will sing
If a gentle breeze, brought me to my knees
It would be from the sight of your smile

The Ocean

An ocean of thoughts,
Like the turbulent seas,
Are lost and forgotten,
As in the Bermuda seas.

Sunrise

The warmth of your touch brings me alive
At first I refuse to receive your gift
Daily persistence has taught me a lesson
To bring down my guard and absorb your light
The brilliance of light that you shine so bright
